A panda walks into a café, orders a sandwich, eats it, then draws a gun and fires a few shots into the air. As the panda moves towards the exit and prepares to leave, a brave man steps up and asked "What's the meaning of that?". The panda replied "I'm a panda. Go check it out." Puzzled, the young man looks up the dictionary and sure enough, finds the definition : Panda - Large black-and-white furry bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves. Hahahaa.... but Pastor, that's so lame!
Yes, Pastor told that joke in part of his message. Very often, it is because of a different definition of terms that we fall into arguments and misunderstandings. We have the righteousness of God. What do we understand by it? Righteousness! That's right standing in the sight of God. And this right standing is a grace gift. Given free to us! Given not because we are good, not because we worked hard to deserve it, not because of our position,.... it is just given to us freely, because of love. God's love towards us. And it is given judiciously,... someone had taken our place in the curse and in its state placed us in the position to receive the blessings of God. Such is the love and grace of God.
We are the reason
As little children,
We would dream of Christmas morn,
Of all the gifts and toys,
We knew we'd find.
But we never realized,
A baby born one blessed night,
Gave us the greatest gift of our lives!
We were the reason,
That He gave His life.
We were the reason,
That He suffered and died.
To a world that was lost,
He gave all He could give,
To show us the reason to live!
As the years went by,
We learned more about gifts.
The giving of ourselves,
And what that means.
On a dark and cloudy day,
A man hung crying in the rain.
All because of love, all because of love!
I've finally found the reason for living,
It's in giving every part of my heart to Him,
In all that I do every word that I say,
I'll be giving my all just for Him, for Him!
He is my reason to live!
It's Christmas eve tonight, and my dear friends, do you know the reason for Christmas?
