Last night's calligraphy class was the 2nd lesson in the new series. Four of us had picked the li-shu script-style and we were particularly impressed by old uncle 'Loo'. He showed us his practice piece since last week's class. Wonder if I can learn to write as well as him. The sweet girl with the smiling dimples did turn up for class this week, but zhen zhen and two others didn't. We also had a new student. Not too bad, that makes 8 students in the class. Now, at least the class wouldn't disband because of too few students.
We decided to start our writing practice with the sample words instead of with the strokes. Afterall, it would be very very boring to do the strokes all over again. Well, I wouldn't really minded if there are improvements to the strokes, but seem we are making no progress.
So to start practice with some actual characters would be a nice break. Well, how does that look? They said it's good, but I think there's still so much difference from the actual thing.....well..... patience, more practice please....... afterall, it's the first practice piece.
